The aim of this book is to provide a historical background for philosophical – theoretical and practical – reflection on the cultural issues of our time and their growingly complex interrelationships.
The book is divided into Three Parts, each with a cluster of interrelated subjects. Part One takes up the confrontation of the two extremes of a collectivism threatening the existence of a social community. Part Two discusses the exciting and delicate interrelationships between science, philosophy and religion. And Part Three takes up the escalating and the timely issues of unity, universalism and globalism.
